LowTEMP 2.0 seminar series in Finland concludes with a fifth event
The series of LowTEMP 2.0 (online) training seminars in Finland, organised by Thermopolis, took place after the completion of the adapted Finnish versions of the training materials in autumn/early winter 2021.
The first LowTEMP 2.0 online seminar in Finland was held on 08th September 2021 in cooperation with the city of Pori. It served more as a promotional event of the LowTEMP project results than as a training seminar. The 37 participants from municipalities and district heating companies from the Satakunta area (Western Finland) focused on the topic “From oil to renewable energy”.
On 27th October 2021, the second LowTEMP 2.0 training seminar was held on sight as a full day event at the Vacational school of Alajärvi for energy advisor students in cooperation with the Energy Agency’s Energy Advisory Service. The nine particpants learned more about the LowTEMP 2.0 training material including more about Energy Strategies Financial and Technical Aspects but also Best Practice examples that enable District Heating stakeholders to realise Low Temperature District Heating.
The third and fourth online seminars were organised in cooperation with Vaasa University of Applied Sciences. The first of these training seminars was for first and second year students and took place on 04th November 2021 with 39 students, focusing on the EU climate protection policy, waste/surplus heat and energy supply systems in the Baltic Sea Region whereas the second seminar on 16th November 2021 was for postgraduate students, focusing on the EU climate protection policy and waste and surplus heat.
The final online seminar in Finland took place on 9th December 2021. Companies in the energy sector and heat plant operators participated, focusing on large-scale heat pumps, business models and new financing structures for Low Temperature District Heating projects and Pilot energy strategies – LowTEMP Case Kurikka District Heating
In total, 122 participants, including lecturers, attended the seminars.
